The City of Hoxie Arkansas offers the
opportunity to enjoy a small town , rural atmosphere while having access to amenities
similar to high density, high traffic urban areas.
Hoxie is located within minutes of outstanding water sports locations, waterfowl hunting (ducks, geese), small game hunting as well as excellent white tailed deer hunting. Lake Charles State Park – 14 miles Black River, Dixie Lee access – 7 miles Spring River – 10 miles Current River – 18 miles Portia Bay – 5 miles Shirey Bay - 8 miles Lake Norfork – about 1 ½ hours Greers Ferry - about 1 ¼ hours City water is provided at a rate of $7.25 for 1st 2000 gallons and $1.25 per each additional 1000 gallon. Garbage pick-up is twice weekly – East side of City; Monday & Thursday – West side of City; Tuesday & Friday—Business pick-up is each Wednesday. Residential cost is $7.00 per month. Fire protection is provided by 19 volunteer and 1 full time fireman utilizing two 1250 GPM pumper trucks (2000 & 2004 models). The City fire rating from Insurance Services Office (ISO) is Level 7 with defined plans to achieve Level 5 within 1 year and Level 3 within 3 years. Fire protection per residence is $2.50 per month. The Police Department is 24 hour deployed and City dispatched for dedicated service. Five full time and eight part time employees are utilized with 4 vehicles available. Hoxie is blessed with a 250 seat Community Center (Service Center) available for Hoxie citizens use (with current $0.50 monthly service contribution) during weekdays / nights for $15 cost and weekend day / night cost of $30.
