Hoxie Fire Department

The Hoxie Fire Department has a Class 6 insurance rating, achieved during the last ISO audit in October 2007. The Fire Department is actively pursuing a Class 4 through upgrades in Fire Alarm Handling procedures, adding equipment to the Fire Fighting capabilities, modifying training process, verifying thoroughness of the inspection program and detailed analysis of the water supply / distribution system. The firefighters train extensively in house and utilize the Black River Technical College Fire Training Center for specialized training.

The firefighters utilize (2) 1250 GPM pumpers (2000 and 2004 models) as well as a completely equipped Service Vehicle.

An active inspection program is in place to insure area businesses, schools, churches and all public buildings are in compliance with all State, County, District and City fire codes and ordinances.

Residential inspections are available to verify no fire hazards are present in homes.
